       I am beyond excited to be starting my 1st year as your principal and consider myself fortunate to be the leader of the Columbia County Alternative School (CCAS). Our school is rich in tradition, and we strive to bring out the best in our students daily. We also strive to create an environment where each student receives the attention necessary to achieve success, and our students work very hard to demonstrate responsibility and respectfulness in all they do.

       The program we offer at CCAS is a positive alternative for students in grades 6-12 that have encountered behavioral challenges in the traditional school setting. It provides a safe and structured environment that encourages and maximizes their academic and behavioral potential. Likewise, although the challenges of behavior, academics, and attendance occasionally throw a student off track, it is our belief at CCAS that we will provide all students with the necessary social, emotional, and academic support, so the stumbling blocks of attendance, attitude and academics can be honed into the building blocks of success upon the return to their home schools.

       We are so fortunate to have a dedicated and professional staff that is committed to academic excellence and the development of the whole child. As cliché as it might sound, we genuinely believe it takes a village to raise a child. Therefore, we encourage all parents to participate in our school's activities and programs. 

       We understand that appropriate behavior and strong academics work together to ensure students are prepared for success as they pursue collegiate and career opportunities after graduation. My pledge to you is that our staff will help each student reshape their narrative in a framework that identifies success and advancement in the future, whether in college, a career, or life in general. I am excited about the upcoming school year because I know TOGETHER, we can do this!
